Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced (mixed colors)
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Slice the flank steak against the grain into thin strips for tenderness.
  2. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, garlic, brown sugar, and cornstarch. Marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add bell peppers and broccoli; stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until vibrant.
  4. Push vegetables aside and add marinated beef to the skillet. Cook until browned on all sides (about 5-7 minutes).
  5. Pour remaining marinade into the skillet with beef and vegetables; cook until slightly thickened (2-3 minutes).
  6. Serve over steamed rice or noodles, garnished with sliced green onions.
