Description
A delicious lemon garlic chicken dish with tender chicken pieces cooked in a flavorful butter sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, boneless and skinless
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and pat dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer and cook until golden brown on both sides. Remove and set aside.
- Lower the heat slightly and melt the butter in the same skillet. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Stir in lemon juice and zest, scraping up any browned bits from the pan to infuse the sauce with flavor.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the lemon garlic butter sauce.
- Sprinkle red pepper flakes and optional parsley. Simmer for 1-2 minutes to combine flavors.
- Serve hot over rice, pasta, or vegetables. Spoon any extra sauce on top.
Notes
- For added flavor, marinate the chicken in lemon juice and spices for at least an hour before cooking.
