Description

Delicious dessert egg rolls stuffed with sweetened cream cheese and spices, served with optional sauces.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 egg roll wrappers
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar, for dusting
  • 1/4 cup chocolate sauce, optional for serving
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce, optional for serving
  • 1/2 cup strawberry sauce, optional for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Add the sugar and vanilla extract, then mix until the filling is creamy and fully combined.
  3. Place one egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape.
  4. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of cheesecake filling into the center of the wrapper.
  5. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, fold in the sides, then roll tightly.
  6. Brush the top corner with water and press to seal the egg roll.
  7. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  8. In a deep skillet or saucepan, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F.
  9. Fry the egg rolls in batches for 2 to 3 minutes, turning as needed, until golden brown and crisp.
  10. Transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate.
  11. Mix the cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl, then sprinkle or roll the warm egg rolls in the mixture.
  12. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, or strawberry sauce if desired.
