Description

Enjoy these delicious and crispy ground beef tacos, packed with flavor and perfect for a quick weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup tomato sauce
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup salsa

Instructions

  1. Cook the beef filling olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until soft and translucent, about 3–4 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a spoon and cook until browned and fully cooked through. Drain any excess grease if needed.
  3. Season the meat in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to coat the beef evenly. Add the tomato sauce and let everything simmer for about 5 minutes. The mixture should be thick, rich, and deeply flavorful. This is the moment when your kitchen starts to smell incredible. The spices bloom in the heat, creating that classic taco aroma that makes everyone wander in asking when dinner will be ready.
  4. Assemble the tacos. Warm the corn tortillas slightly so they’re pliable. Spoon a portion of the seasoned beef onto one half of each tortilla. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef, then fold the tortilla in half.
  5. Crisp them to perfection in a clean skillet over medium heat with a light drizzle of oil. Place the folded tacos in the pan and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the tortillas are golden brown and crispy and the cheese has melted. You’ll hear that satisfying sizzle as the tortillas crisp up. That sound is the secret to perfect Crispy Ground Beef Tacos.
  6. Add toppings and serve from the skillet and let them rest briefly. Open slightly and add shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, and salsa. Serve immediately while warm and crunchy.
