Description

Delicious and festive sugar cookie bars topped with cream cheese frosting and colorful sprinkles.


Ingredients

  • 1 package Krusteaz Butter Vanilla Sugar Cookie Mix
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup red, green, and white holiday flat sprinkles (jimmies)
  • 6 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons red, green, and white holiday sprinkles (jimmies or your favorite)

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350F, line an 8×8-inch pan with aluminum foil, spray with cooking spray; set aside.
  2. To a large bowl, add the packet of cookie mix, butter, egg, and mix or stir to combine.
  3. Add the sprinkles and stir to combine.
  4. Turn batter out into the prepared pan and bake for about 25 to 30 minutes, or until done. Cool completely before frosting.
  5. Frosting: To a large mixing bowl, add the cream cheese, butter, and beat on high to combine with a handheld electric mixer.
  6. Slowly add the confectioners’ sugar, vanilla, salt, and beat to incorporate.
  7. Evenly spread the frosting over the cooled bars.
  8. Evenly sprinkle the sprinkles over the top and serve. Bars will keep airtight in the fridge for up to 1 week.
