Description

Enjoy these delicious homemade glazed doughnuts that are perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (Gather at room temperature for best results.)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk (Use room temperature.)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (For desired consistency.)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (For glaze.)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  3. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. A few lumps are okay.
  4. In a large pot, heat oil to 350°F (175°C) for frying.
  5. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick and cut the doughnuts using a round cutter.
  6. Carefully fry the doughnuts in the hot oil for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Remove the doughnuts and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for the glaze until smooth.
  9. Once the doughnuts are cool enough to handle, dip them into the glaze and place them on a wire rack to set.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious homemade glazed doughnuts!

Notes
