Description

A delicious and fun way to enjoy the classic flavors of peanut butter and jelly in a roll format.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup jelly or jam of your choice
  • Optional: a handful of chopped peanuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8-inch square pan.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a big bowl.
  3. Pour in the milk and melted butter. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Lightly flour the counter and roll the dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Spread peanut butter across the dough and dot or swirl the jelly on top.
  6. Scatter chopped peanuts or chocolate chips on top if desired.
  7. Roll up the rectangle, longer side first, into a log shape.
  8. Slice into 8-10 rolls and place in the greased pan.
  9. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until turning golden.
  10. Let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • I’ve subbed in whole wheat flour for the all-purpose flour when feeling marginally healthy; it works but is a bit denser.
  • You can use brown or white sugar interchangeably.
  • Whole milk is preferred, but almond milk is a fine substitute.
  • For a crunch, consider adding a handful of chopped peanuts or chocolate chips.
