Description
A delicious and fun way to enjoy the classic flavors of peanut butter and jelly in a roll format.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/3 cup jelly or jam of your choice
- Optional: a handful of chopped peanuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8-inch square pan.
- Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a big bowl.
- Pour in the milk and melted butter. Stir until a dough forms.
- Lightly flour the counter and roll the dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread peanut butter across the dough and dot or swirl the jelly on top.
- Scatter chopped peanuts or chocolate chips on top if desired.
- Roll up the rectangle, longer side first, into a log shape.
- Slice into 8-10 rolls and place in the greased pan.
- Bake for about 20 minutes, or until turning golden.
- Let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- I’ve subbed in whole wheat flour for the all-purpose flour when feeling marginally healthy; it works but is a bit denser.
- You can use brown or white sugar interchangeably.
- Whole milk is preferred, but almond milk is a fine substitute.
- For a crunch, consider adding a handful of chopped peanuts or chocolate chips.
