Description
A classic chocolate chip cookie recipe that results in perfectly sweet and chewy cookies.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
- Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold this into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes (optional) to enhance flavor and texture.
- Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden and centers are set.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Chilling the dough may result in a thicker, chewier cookie.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
