Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Pink gel food coloring
- Valentine sprinkles
Instructions
- Cream the Base
Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and mix until smooth. - Mix Dry Ingredients
Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix into wet ingredients until a soft dough forms. - Divide and Color Dough
Divide dough in half. Leave one plain and tint the other pink. - Shape the Cookies
Roll plain dough into balls and flatten slightly. Roll pink dough into thin ropes and form heart borders. - Decorate
Gently press sprinkles into the center of each cookie. - Chill
Refrigerate shaped cookies for 30 minutes. - Bake
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until edges are set. - Cool
Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
